The Role

The Desktop Environment Specialist will support the Desktop Environment Manager with maintaining SCCM, End User Devices, Desktop Technologies, Software Packaging and Desktop Patch Management.

The role holder will also be responsible for supporting Service Desk escalations.

You will also:

  • Provide 3rd line desktop support, supporting the Service Desk team with escalations.
  • Support PCL’s M365 administration (Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online, SharePoint).
  • Support Group Policy Management in conjunction with infrastructure and SCCM tasks.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Windows, Virtual Desktop within PCL.
  • Maintain PCL’s endpoint standards in line good practice, ensuring devices are patched in line with PCL’s standard.

To be considered as Desktop Environment Specialist, you will need:

  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD including GPO, DNS, DHCP, Domain Services
  • Working towards an understanding of Azure security, conditional access, MFA
  • Good knowledge of M365, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Windows OS patching, enterprise class desktop hardware and software such as Windows 10, and third-party applications
