About the role
Reporting to the Head of People, you'll partner with assigned business units to deliver HR activities that support operational priorities and employee experience. You will provide day-to-day people management support, lead employee relations casework, support performance and reward interventions, and contribute to workforce planning and talent initiatives.
The role requires strong stakeholder engagement across all levels of the organisation to ensure consistent, fair and legally compliant people practices.
Key responsibilities
Act as the primary HR business partner for your allocated teams, providing timely, pragmatic advice and coaching to managers on people matters including performance, capability, absence, disciplinaries and grievances.
Support workforce planning, organisational change and restructures by providing practical HR input, planning and implementation support.
Partner with the Reward team to provide guidance on pay, benefits and job evaluations, ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness.
Lead and manage employee relations casework, ensuring investigation, documentation and outcomes follow policy and employment law.
Drive talent activities including succession planning, talent reviews, development conversations and supporting internal mobility.
Deliver learning and development initiatives in collaboration with the People team, and promote a culture of continuous development.
Support inclusion, wellbeing and engagement initiatives, acting as an ambassador for the company’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion objectives.
Provide people-related input to projects, policies and process improvements to ensure alignment with best practice and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate HR records and contribute to reporting and people metrics that inform business decisions.
Represent the People function in relevant committees and working groups as required.
Person specification
We are looking for an experienced, pragmatic HR professional who can translate people strategy into operational activity and build strong relationships across the business.
Essential
Substantial experience in an HR business partner or generalist role in a complex organisation.
Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice in the UK.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility with senior leaders.
Experience of delivering change projects
Proven experience managing employee relations cases, including investigations and formal processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present matters clearly and sensitively to a range of audiences.
Confident using HR systems and comfortable working with people metrics and data analysis.
